With acres of beautiful scenery, elegant English charm and homely atmosphere, Silchester Farm in the heart of Silchester has everything you can expect from a luxurious countryside wedding and events venue. The romantic ambience of the farm is apparent from the moment you arrive along the tree-lined driveway, with endless views across stunning countryside.
Couples are invited to tie the knot in the 400-year old oak beamed Hampshire Threshing Barn. Bedecked in gently twinkling fairy lights, it is the perfect place for that ‘I do’ moment. If an outdoor ceremony is what your heart desires, then the back drop of their lake, with their signature weeping willow and wild greenery is sure to bring your romance to life.
So naturally we were thrilled when Silchester Farm got in touch to commission eight Pigstys to fill a disused stable at the heart of the farm. Previously used as a fenced-off service area, it was only a matter of time before their focus moved from developing other areas of their stunning venue, to maximise the use of this site and create what they have named, ‘The Drift’.
Designed and handmade in our Winchester workshop, these custom-built Pigsty suites will serve as luxury guest accommodation for Silchester Farm’s growing wedding venue. The Drift will comprise of a luxurious Bridal Suite at its centre, a Groom’s Suite at the entrance, flanked by 12m double accommodation ‘Pyggies’ with entrances at either end. To service the Drift, a bespoke-designed reception and staff office will be included and to round off the end of the site nearest to the outer entrance of the farm, will be an exciting 12m open plan Farm Shop, selling produce from the farm itself, as well as local suppliers.
Our in-house team created a 3D model to bring the site to life prior to construction, with our workshops now full to the rafters with domed structures, metal chassis and reclaimed timber. With it being such a varied project, we’re not quite sure which part we are more excited to see come together. We’re proud to be a small part of Silchester Farm’s extraordinary story, supplying a site that will no doubt inspire even more couples to choose this beautiful location to celebrate their big day.
